Hotel #1, Thessaloniki

Arrived at a small, non descript airport without fanfare or incident - yay!  Then traveled by bus through a neglected part of the city, but still enjoyed the green overgrowth everywhere. It was a bit overcast so kind of difficult to take in he surrounding hills and mountains.  We then began passing historical homes from the Ottoman era, followed by several churches from various eras the restored ruins sat about 5 feet below street level. And we finally arrived at our hotel.
